Roofing Jobs by State
Roofing jobs in every state
Browse all 50 states. Choose a state to see its current roofing listings, then check the job’s actual reporting location and travel requirements.
Find your state
State silhouettes use U.S. Census Bureau cartographic boundaries. Each outline is fitted to the same icon area and is not shown to geographic scale.
Use the state directory as a starting filter
A statewide search can reveal roles beyond one metro, including traveling crews, service territories and smaller-market contractors. Narrow by role and actual reporting location before comparing pay. A state median is context, not a wage requirement for every job in that state.

An example of checking the correct authority
California’s Contractors State License Board defines the C-39 Roofing Contractor classification. That is a contractor-classification resource; it should not be paraphrased as “every roofing employee must hold a C-39 license.” Identify who must hold the authorization for the actual work arrangement and consult current state/local requirements.
For apprenticeships, use the sponsor or state apprenticeship agency to confirm application and training requirements. A program in one state does not establish the same intake schedule or wage steps elsewhere.
Build a cross-state offer comparison
Record role, base rate, paid schedule, reporting location, travel, benefits, training and relevant authorizations for each offer. Keep relocation costs separate. Compare like-for-like work: a residential sales role and a commercial installer role should not be ranked using only their advertised maximum earnings.
Use city searches for a narrower commute area and Texas wage data as an example of reading a state and its metros separately.
Compare location details
A statewide listing can still require a specific reporting location or travel territory. Confirm the actual work area, overnight travel, commute, and expense arrangements before accepting an offer.
Read statewide listings closely
Confirm the reporting city, service territory, and whether the employer expects relocation. For travel crews, ask about the home base, lodging arrangements, and time away. A state page can contain no jobs today and gain listings later; use the RSS feed if you want to monitor new postings.
